If a recipient deleted or lost their gift message, or a notification didn't arrive, you can send it again from the gift order in Giftnote. You can resend any single notification, to the recipient or to the customer who placed the order.
Resending a notification
- In Giftnote, select Gift orders and open the order. Use the search icon and Filter at the top of the list to find it.
- Wait for the order page to finish loading. While it loads, notifications that already went out can look unsent.
- Find the Notifications card on the right. Each notification has its own row, showing who receives it (Customer or Recipient) and its status.

- On a notification that shows Sent, select Resend. Resend it once, then check the Timeline before sending again.
Which one to resend:
- Gift Order - Gift Message Delivered sends the gift message to the recipient.
- Gift Order - Confirmed and Gift Order - Complete go to the customer who placed the order.
Send now shows on a notification that hasn't gone out yet. It sends straight away, ahead of the normal trigger. For the gift message, that means before the parcel arrives. Check the Timeline first (see below), because a message that already went out would reach the recipient twice. If the Timeline shows it never went out, chat with us using the chat button in the help centre or in the app, or email support@giftnote.com.
Check whether a message was sent
On the order page, open the Timeline card and select Notifications. Each send is listed with its status and who received it (Customer or Recipient). On the Notifications card, a notification that went out shows Sent and when.
If the recipient's email or phone number was wrong, fix it first. See Modify a gift order.
