Archive a gift order so Giftnote stops sending anything for it, what archiving does and doesn't do, and when to edit or cancel in Shopify instead. Giftnote has no delete.

If a gift order shouldn't go ahead, archive it. Archiving removes it from your active list and stops Giftnote sending any more gift messages or notifications for it. Giftnote has no delete, and you can't undo archiving.

If the order was only set up wrongly, you may not need to archive it. See "If a gift order was set up incorrectly" below.

Archiving a gift order

1. In Giftnote, select Gift orders in the left-hand menu.

2. Find the order. Use the search icon and Filter at the top of the list to narrow it down.

3. Open the order and select Archive. Check it's the right order first, because you can't undo this.

Archiving only affects Giftnote. It doesn't cancel or refund the Shopify order. To cancel the order, cancel it in Shopify.

An open gift order in Giftnote. Archive it from the menu at the top right of the order page.

If a gift order was set up incorrectly

  • The recipient, sender or message is wrong. Open the order and select Edit on the Gift Message card. See Modify a gift order.
  • The delivery method or scheduled time is wrong. You can change both in the same place.
  • The customer cancelled the whole order. Cancel the order in Shopify. The gift order moves to Cancelled.
  • A scheduled or on-delivery message must not go out. Archive the gift order before the message sends.
